PAISAJES EMOCIONALES

 

Hablamos de ciudades globalizadas donde la pérdida de identidad es un hecho, al tiempo que parece que nos esforzamos por mantenerla pero nuestras grandes urbes ceden su realidad a una ficción de realidad global.

Este trabajo nace de mi interés por la pérdida de edificios singulares que fueron creados en los años 40,50 y 60 por y para el cine. Una serie de imágenes de diversos cines en la ciudad de Madrid que los años 90 fueron cerrados, abandonados en su cuidado para posteriormente convertirse en grandes almacenes, tiendas de ropa, gimnasios o restaurantes de grandes cadenas internacionales. Realizadas en blanco y negro, como las primeras películas proyectadas en estos cines, los personajes que aparecen en sus cercanías están difuminados, son nuestra pérdida de identidad.

 

 

EMOTIONAL LANDSCAPES

 

It is spoken about global cities where the loss of identity is a fact, it seems that while we strive to keep our cities but actually give way to a global reality fiction.

This work come out from my interest in the loss of landmark buildings that were created in the years 40,50 and 60 to and for films. A series of images of various theaters in the city of Madrid that the 90 were closed, abandoned in their care and later became department stores, clothing stores, gyms and restaurants of international branding. Made in black and white, like the first films shown in these theaters, the characters that appear around are dimmed as our loss of identity.
